Well this was supposed to get posted back in August when it actually happened but my browser ate my homework, so to speak, and I gave up in frustration figuring that it was gone forever. Recently I discovered it stashed away in Stash, so here it is.

I haven't been doing much writing at the moment. Eventually, I'll get back to that. For now, the things that I've been finding joy in don't really work so well on dA.

Also, I've wanted a harp for a long time. Price, however, was always a stumbling block for met. Surprisingly, a few weeks ago I ran across one at a local pawn shop. It seems that somehow they end up with a Dusty Strings Ravenna 26 string harp. The price I got was good and I couldn't resist. I'm finding that playing the harp is, in its own way, as relaxing for me as playing my flutes. It's easy to lose track of time and just be when working with either one.

Flute Quest was fun this year. I really enjoyed seeing friends and, of course, the music and the flutes. There was an amazing flute based on the Pegasus myth there that I was pretty blown away by. No, I didn't go home with it. It was rather out of my price range. Rona Yellowrobe, Jonny Lipford, and --- well that was exciting, found the neighbors apartment filled with smoke and pulled the building fire alarm. I'm sooo glad I was awake. That's enough adrenaline for the night.

Happy Hapi Drum

1 min read
I just found a Hapi Drum at the local pawnshop and decided to buy it. While researching my purchase I found this link youtu.be/NPaH6Br_J6w from their site to a very cool piece of music. Now I've got mine home and am messing about with it.

I've seen a lot of things going around about the shootings that occurred recently -- Many of them in poor taste, falsely attributed, or just plain wrong. I'd like to remind people that it's ok to react emotionally to these events, but after that initial reaction, take a step back, do some fact checking, and ask yourself, "Is that really what I want to say?"

I also want to share something that I do think is helpful and was created before these incidents: fci.org/new-site/par-tragic-ev…

I never expected to get one, but there it is!

Mature Content

received a Daily Deviation! Thanks, :iconangelstained: for suggesting it. Thanks, :iconlitplease: for having the dA chat room in which the typo occurred that gave me the idea for the script in the first place and the script contest that gave me the idea to make it a script.

Also I'd like to call attention to the fact that #LITPlease has lost it's Super Group subscription. (See litplease.deviantart.com/journ… for details.) If you have some points to spare, please visit :iconrichmond-c: and donate a few points to help them renew it, won't you?

I should preface this by saying that I've owned Photoshop since version 3.5...

So I took a look at upgrading my Photoshop CS2 today. I also own Illustrator as well, so I was considering getting a Creative Suite edition. Why not move to the bundle and maybe save a bit right? Easy enough to find, but the ordering systems upgrade section completely fails to account for someone owning multiple individual products. While I was looking at the site to see what the choices were, a window pops up to chat with a support representative. "Ok," I think. "I'll give it a whirl and see if I can get some helpful answers."

Instead what I get is a so-called Customer Support Specialist that didn't really tell me ANYTHING that I couldn't find for myself, and acted like I was a mental defective and he was there to 'show me the way.' Frankly, I'm surprised I put up with him as long as I did. I kept hoping to be told something actually useful. Instead what I got was a bunch of stupid product cheerleading and attempts to avoid straight answers to my questions.

So rather than continuing to be a loyal Adobe customer, I am now exploring alternatives due to the insulting attitude and attempted high-pressure sales tactics.

If anyone from Adobe happens to see this, your prices are a factor in me looking for alternatives, but it was the tone of your interactions that was the absolute clincher. The surest way to lose me as a customer even above overly high prices is to try talking down to me. I'll be taking a serious look at your competitors now and it's your own fault.
